Sarıkaya, who lived in Antalya at that time and said that the idea of ​​living in Istanbul was scary, moved to Istanbul after telling her mother that she wanted to act. She completed her high school education in Antalya Saime Salih Konca High School. She wanted to complete her university education abroad, but she did not receive a university education. She didn't think of being an actor as a child but wanted to be a model.


She played volleyball for a long time and was interested in basketball for a while. Serenay, who played tennis for a while, was also interested in Latin dances before her career. At the age of 15, she participated in the European Youth Beauty Contest held in the Czech Republic and received the special jury prize in the competition. Later, she started her acting career.
